Kroger in-store pharmacies will expand its generic drug program offering customers lower prices and additional drug choices to meet their health needs. The Clarksville-Johnson County Development Foundation has a program called "Free Rides For Senior Citizens" for seniors 62 and older. The program provides transportation free of charge to the following locations; food pantry, grocery and drug stores twice a week, and hospital, and doctors office unlimited times to locations in Clarksville, Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 1 a.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 a.m.. Seniors 62 and older can call 214-2512 for a ride.

If you would like to learn first hand about another culture without leaving the United States Pacific Intercultural Exchange has international exchange students from over 40 countries arriving into the area for home stay programs. All students are English speaking, have their own spending money, and carry accidental and health insurance. Prospective host families are able to review student applications in order to select the perfect match. The non-profit organization is looking for a few more caring host families to share the American way of life. The Russellville Adult Education Center offers free classes to earn high school diplomas, basic computer skills, as well as classes to learn English. Language and refresher reading classes, math and language skills class are also available. For more information call 968-5244.
Every Tuesday and Saturday at the Lake Dardanelle State Park is feeding time for the fish in the large aquarium display at the visitor center. The park staff feeds the fish at 1:30 and all are welcome to come watch.

Attention River Valley Seniors---The Area Agency on Aging has a limited number of air conditioners and fans available to seniors who are suffering with the heat. To qualify for the air conditioner, you cannot have a working air conditioner now. The fans can be given to anyone who has a need. Call 967-9300 to request an air conditioner or a fan.
